This is great hazard for the environment. But there is a solution to this problem. Rubber tires can be recycled to make rubber mulch. Rubber mulch is a useful material which can be used in many ways. It can be used for surfacing the playgrounds and yards. In this way rubber mulch helps to make the playground area safe for the activities of children.
Mulch can also be used for arena footing
. Rubber mulch used in arena is useful in many ways. It takes extra strain from the feet of horse. Another use of rubber mulch is landscaping. Mulch can help a lot in maintaining green lawns. These type of lawns does not need any type of special care and maintenance.
Rubber mulch is best choice because it is completely toxic free, steel free, non standing and non abrasive material.
Rubber mulch is available in various colors and varieties. If you are planning to buy mulch then it is a good idea to discuss all your requirements. You should also plan your budget in advance. Proper budget always helps a person to save some time as well as money.

Rubber mulch is made from recycled rubber tires. It is an environmentally-friendly material because it makes practical use of a product that would otherwise end up in the waste stream. Rubber mulch is not only used in gardens, but also as a safe surface for playgrounds, arenas, and athletic fields. It is versatile, durable, and can be found in a range of colors from bright blue to earthy red. There are many reasons that rubber mulch is an efficient, ideal surface material. There are concerns as well, especially when it is used in gardens. Exactly what are all the pros and cons of rubber mulch?

Benefits for Garden Use

Why is rubber mulch considered beneficial in the garden? Unlike other organic mulches, such as pine needles or straw, rubber is relatively heavy and dense. It is not going to blow away or float in heavy rains. Its weight is good for effectively holding in moisture and preventing the growth of weeds. Rubber mulch is also going to remain on the surface of the soil rather than sinking like organic material will eventually do. Because of this rubber lasts much longer than other conventional mulches, remaining useful for years.

Consisting of recycled tires, rubber mulch is not going to attract unwanted pests which could harm plants, or simply be a nuisance. It is also resistant to mold, mildew, and general decay. Rubber is even aesthetically pleasing, with a clean-looking surface that can be cut to fit into most spaces. It provides a low-maintenance, convenient surface to provide the gardening benefits of natural mulches, without the negatives of organic materials.

While talking of environment I would like to say that environmental pollution is a very critical problem and needs to be controlled. This one efficiently controls pollution even while its manufacture and after it is installed.

The rubber mulch is a result of the process called recycling. That explains it all. It prevents the use of chemicals and fertilizers that can cause environment in one way or other.

It provides safety to kids from all the injuries while playing in playgrounds.

The cost is economical when all the maintenance is considered. As it is a one time investment the cost is not a matter of worry.

It rules out the word maintenance and the cost involved in it. It saves a lot of your money.

For 6 more reasons to use mulch made out of rubber.

6 Benefits of Rubber Mulch

There are many uses for rubber mulch – from the playground to the horse arena and the yard. It does not absorb or retain water.

Here are 6 top benefits of rubber mulch:

Rubber mulch uses recycled materials and reduces waste.

Rubber mulch mimics the popular look of natural bark mulch without the drawbacks.

Rubber mulch is long lasting – it will last for 10–20 years.

Rubber mulch can be used for longer-lasting landscaping (curbing and ground cover) and unlike wood the color will not fade.

Playgrounds that use rubber mulch help soften falls.

Rubber mulch won’t harbor termites or bugs or wood eating insects that can get into homes or structures. You can read more at http://blog.rubbermulch.com/2010/04/6-benefits-of-rubber-mulch/

It has got infinite number of benefits when used. Most parents prefer rubber mulch for the kid’s play area as they will protect them from serious injuries. They act as a shock absorber when people fall down. This ensures that no serious injuries can be sustained. Athletes prefer the grounds to be covered with rubber mulches as they offer higher level of security and do not skid often. Mulch is prepared from the old tires by recycling them. This prevents the environment and stops pollution to a greater extent.

Rubber mulches are quite inexpensive and can last long for a life time. They do not allow rain water to get stagnated and the play can resume minutes after the rain stops. The raw materials are available in most parts of the world and the old tires can be reused in this fashion to stop pollution. This also prevents from over dumping of the waste materials. Rubber mulches also hold the nutrients of the soil and do not allow them to be washed way with the rain water. There can be various coloring agents used to give an exquisite look to the play areas. With all the above said features, rubber mulches are clearly unique and distinct in terms of their property and usage.

1. Sound proofing

It would require thousands of dollars to install Quiet Rocks and professional sound-proofing materials. It would take you a while to collect enough egg boxes to board up your entire studio.

Rubber mulch is an effective and affordable alternative for sound proofing your home studio. It’s readily available in all 50 states. Just pad your walls and your doors and hang a thick curtain over your windows. Your neighbors (or your parents) will no longer complain about the noise, so you can be left alone with your music.

2. Protecting your instruments

Besides sound proofing, rubber mulch can also be used to protect your instruments. Professional guitar stands and sound equipment storage boxes don’t come cheap.

You can take a trip to your local DIY store and grab some plywood and plastic racks. Pad them with rubber mulch and you can safely store your guitars, keyboards, and amplifiers without worrying about scratches.

3. Protecting your floor surface

You can also cover your studio’s floor with rubber mulch. This protects the floor and your instruments. Drum sets leave nasty grooves on the floor. Carpets move, disrupting you when you play. Rubber mulch flooring will protect both your instruments and your floor.

Moreover, rubber mulch is already known to protect athletes and children from fall-related accidents. Having rubber mulch around will give you a safe environment to try out your rock star moves before your gigs.

4. Maintenance

Rubber mulch is weatherproof and durable. It will take years before you need to replace anything. Rubber mulch is also easy to clean—all you need are soapy water and a mop with a long handle to make it easier. You can leave the doors and windows open for the rubber mulch to dry, or you can just leave the fan switched on until everything dries up.

Credit crunch eating into your budget for some of life’s luxuries? No matter how much you tighten your belt, do not sacrifice anything that has to do with your health or that of your family’s. If you do, you’d end up with a lot more (medical) bills than you started out with.

So now that your gym fees have gotten expensive, it’s okay if you cancel your membership. However, this doesn’t mean that your workout days have ended. Below are 3 steps towards recreating your favorite gym in your home. It will cost you a lot less, and you’d probably get more money for value in the long run.

1. Use all that you have learned

As soon as you’ve signed the cancellation sheets, make sure you walk out of your gym with the training and diet program you and your trainer have worked on. This includes all programs since the day you began going to the gym.

Your gym history is full of knowledge about which programs work and which don’t. You can dig a little deeper to know which particular program points yield the highest benefits under what conditions.

The reason I’m stressing this is that going through these will let you know what pieces of equipment you need to allot space for in your home gym.

2. Laying the foundations

If you’re lucky, you can occupy half the garage or the tool shed. However, a corner of your living room will also work just fine. Now, the best way to mark your territory is by way of installing the flooring. Rubber mulch is highly suggested as it absorbs impact—your body’s and that of your equipment’s.

Brightly colored rubber mulch is recommended to help get you psyched for your workout. Yellow and orange are the best color options.

3. Install equipment

After setting your rubber mulch flooring and putting up some half-naked Bruce Lee posters for inspiration, it’s time to bring in the equipment. This is tricky because it’s tempting to stuff your gym area to bursting capacity. Don’t. It could be a waste of space and money.

Go back to your old programs and determine what body parts you need to focus on. Purchase equipment online or from second-hand stores. Having just the right pieces of equipment will force you to focus and address what your body needs. And, it helps you save money. If it’s time for new equipment, sell the ones you don’t need.

Like women, whose feet hurt after hours spent walking on high heels, horses’ feet also bear a lot of stress when training for competitions. In fact, inappropriate footing can cause a horse to develop various bone disorders and joint problems.

That is why it is important to provide proper footing for horses. If you are a horse lover, this would mean giving your horses the best quality of care available. But if you are an equestrian, this could spell the difference between victory and defeat.

Figure out the best footing for your horse
On deciding which footing would best benefit your horse, 2 things must be considered: the type of surface on which the horse undergoes training, and impact resistance.

Basically, a good horse arena footing requires a firm, leveled base that gives your horse a solid platform. The base holds the top layer that cushions and absorbs the footfalls of the horse. This becomes especially important when the hoof of the horse moves in a downward direction, as it is this motion that gives the horse utmost discomfort. The material used as footing must also be able to withstand even the toughest of weather conditions.

Bad materials for footing
Never use concrete as footing for horse arenas. This is because concrete does not absorb impact energy. It will be terribly difficult for the horse to run on it. Sand is also an unsuitable material to use as footing. It is difficult for the horse to move in sand. Because of this, horses tend to move slowly and easily get tired.

Rubber mulch is good material for footing
Rubber mulch provides an excellent surface for horses. It is capable of absorbing impact and is known to reduce the stress on the horses’ joints and bones. Rubber mulch is the best material there is to create topnotch arena footing for horses.

Living in the city can be less stressful than it is. Work and family already make your hands full. The moments that you have for yourself shouldn’t add to your fatigue. The challenge is to find the right things to do with the little free time that you get without spending so much.

The trick is to think with simplicity. Freeing your mind is the objective as it is the method. Below are two simple things you can do with your alone-time.

1.	Make time slow down
Walk, jog, run—you don’t have to do it every day, and you don’t have to do all of these in one go. The beauty of not running on a treadmill is that you can pick your scenery. The best paths to chose are the ones that absorb impact, especially those that are covered with rubber mulch. This surface makes sure that you won’t harm your knees and ankles when you walk or jog.

2.	Say hi to the sky
Lie underneath the open sky. Morning, afternoon or evening, the sky has something new to offer any time of the day. Dirt and mud shouldn’t stop you. Rubber mulch is a popular landscaping tool used to reduce soil erosion while keeping in moisture. This effectively keeps you from getting dirty, allowing you to go on lying down even when it starts drizzling. Rain by the way, is an effective alternative to pressurized massages and best of all, it’s free.

These two suggestions could be shared with people dear to you. It is also a good idea to share these activities with children to remind them that there is more than TV and video games. Moreover, you could use these “original” ideas to make your next date sweet and memorable without having to spend big.

Just recently on a visit to my doctors surgery, I noticed that they had some new wooden mulch on the ground around the plants. In fact all they had done was buy some new stuff and just had it placed on top of the old and rotting mulch that was already there.

Now apart from not looking as good, because you could actually see the difference between the new and old, it is also not going to last as long. The old rotting wooden mulch underneath, will cause the new stuff to go off even quicker and the smell, the smell was bad. They had laid the new mulch and sprayed it with water and a solution to stop fungal growth, but this was not the only thing making it smell as the old mulch was quite pungent anyway.

Now being the type of person I am, I thought I would mention to the surgery manager a cheaper and more effective way of going about keeping the plant beds looking good. You guessed it, I talked to her about rubber mulch, the fact that they would not have to spray it, to fend off the fungal infections the plants can get, the fact that rubber mulch does not give off that horrible smell that wooden mulch does and that it lasts longer than she could imagine, so saving the surgery’s budget.

We talked for quite a while about rubber mulch, where it comes from, as in the recycled tires, what different grades and colors there are, how much should be laid down and much more. I felt a bit like a sales rep by the end of it, but I didn’t mind, I even gave her the names of a few web sites to look at and phoned a friend, who works as a manager in a garden center and got him to give her a discount on an order of rubber mulch.

By the end of our chat I had convinced her that rubber mulch was the way to go and she agreed with me whole heartedly. Not only that, but she is also going to start using it around her garden. The next step is for me to keep on at the local authorities and get them to steer clear and get rid of all their wooden mulch and convert to rubber mulch. If I can do it, then anyone can do it. Give it a go, it feels great.

Going green in the garden can be done in a number of ways. You can consider using rubber mulch, not putting any chemicals down, but using natural means of looking after your garden and getting rid of pests.

When you think about it, any little contribution that you can do that helps the environment is great, as if everyone did their little bit for the environment, the world would be a better place, not just for us, but our children and our children’s children.

Firstly using rubber mulch in your garden, with around your plants, on the paths, or under the kid’s play area is a green thing to do. Rubber mulch is made out of recycled rubber tires, and helps the environment by reducing the number of tires left and burnt on scrap yards and reusing as a helpful product that can be used for playground surfaces, landscaping purposes and even equine footing.

Another easy step to make your garden more green is to make the choice not to use man-made chemicals fertilizers on your garden plants, as there are so many natural alternatives on the market these days like Fulvic acids and amino acids, which provide a whole lot of good nutrition to your plants.

The best organic way of getting rid of weeds used to be by getting out the hoe and physically pulling the weeds out, but now it is possible to find organic weed killers that will do the job well. Also if you have chosen to lay rubber mulch around your plants, this will prevent a lot of weeds appearing anyway.

Lastly a great way to get rid of pests naturally is to make your garden a haven for birds. Put a bird table in, perhaps a bird bath – make your garden as bird friendly as possible because these birds will get rid of any pesky unwanted insects.
